Essent Healthcare announced today the addition of Benjamin Ross to its senior management team. Ross will serve as the company’s first vice president of physician operations and will be responsible for physician recruitment and physician practice operations.
“By design, Essent Healthcare is very lean and focused at the corporate level,” said Mike Browder, CEO of Essent Healthcare. “By creating a new senior-level position devoted to physician recruitment and relations, we are actively demonstrating our understanding of the changing dynamics of physician-hospital relations and its vital importance to our company.”
Before joining Essent, Ross was owner of Medico of South Carolina, a medical billing and physician practice management company and a partner at Encore Medical Staffing of Columbia, a nurse staffing company serving South Carolina medical facilities. Before that, he served as practice administrator for South Carolina Internal Medicine.
“I have spent my entire career working with and for physicians,” said Ross. “Never has there been a more critical time for healthcare companies to find unique and mutually beneficial ways to work with their physician partners. I am excited about the opportunity.”
Ross holds a master’s in health administration from the University of South Carolina-Columbia and bachelor’s degree in history/political science from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
