HIPAA Privacy

Essent devotes significant resources to protecting the privacy and security of our patients' health information.  In accordance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), we have implemented policies and procedures at each of our facilities that limit how we may use and/or disclose certain Protected Health Information (PHI).  Our "Notice of Privacy Practices" contains a detailed summary of how we may use and disclose PHI at our facilities.  In addition, the notice contains information regarding your rights with regards to your health information and whom you may contact in the event that you feel that your privacy rights have been violated.
 

Because of the unique risks associated with electronic data (bugs, viruses, worms, hackers, etc.), we have implemented additional security measures to protect health information held or maintained in an electronic format.  Our privacy and security policies and procedures are available for review via the various links on this page.  At Essent, we take privacy and security seriously and we welcome your comments at any time.
